Review of the 2024 Tesla Model 3: My New Everyday Car

In 2017, Tesla delivered the first Model 3, marking a significant turning point for the company. This delivery signified the beginning of a challenging journey for Tesla, but ultimately led to their growth and success as an automaker. Over the years, the Model 3 has seen improvements in various aspects, but the design has remained relatively consistent.

Fast forward to 2023, and the Model 3 still maintains its iconic look. However, earlier this year, Tesla introduced the re-engineered Tesla Model 3, bringing a host of changes and upgrades. I recently picked up my re-engineered Model 3 in February, and today I’m going to share my experience of living with this car for about 2 months.

Let’s start by discussing the main changes in the new Model 3. The interior has been upgraded, the stocks have been removed, and the headlights and tail lights have been redesigned. I opted for the standard rear-wheel-drive model, which offers an EPA range of 272 miles, a top speed of 125 mph, and a 0 to 60 time of 5.8 seconds. I also chose to upgrade to red paint, but there are other trim options available, including a dual-motor long-range version with extended range and faster acceleration.

One notable feature of the standard Range model is the use of an LFP chemistry battery pack, which allows for daily charging to 100%. In comparison, the long-range model recommends charging to 80% daily. The standard Range model also comes with a slightly downgraded sound system compared to the long-range version, which is something I wish Tesla offered as an upgrade option.

The exterior of the re-engineered Model 3 features a redesigned hood, bumper, headlights, and tail lights. The all-glass roof adds a touch of elegance, and the trunk space has been increased, along with additional storage compartments. The wheels, cameras, and other exterior features contribute to the overall sleek look of the car.

Moving to the interior, the most significant change is the removal of the left stock for turn signals, which are now controlled by buttons on the steering wheel. The center touchscreen remains the focal point of the dashboard, offering various controls and features. The seats have been upgraded for improved comfort, with ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. The rear passengers also get a dedicated screen for climate control, media, and entertainment.

Driving the re-engineered Model 3 is a refined experience, with improved ride comfort, reduced cabin noise, and responsive steering. The autopilot system works seamlessly, providing assistance with lane-keeping and adaptive cruise control. The car also features a 3D park assist system for easier parking maneuvers.

In terms of charging, Tesla’s supercharger network offers fast and reliable charging options, making road trips hassle-free. Overall, the re-engineered Model 3 is a significant upgrade over its predecessor, offering a more refined driving experience and enhanced features. If you’re in the market for a sleek and efficient electric vehicle, the re-engineered Tesla Model 3 is definitely worth considering.
