How much does it cost to replace the windshield on your Tesla Model 3?

Have you ever experienced the frustration of getting a stone chip on your windshield shortly after purchasing a new vehicle? Well, I certainly have, and I wanted to share my experience of having my Tesla Model 3 windshield replaced. It was an unexpected expense that I had to deal with just two weeks after taking delivery of my new car.

Driving along the highway, keeping a safe distance from the vehicle in front of me, a stone from a passing truck hit my windshield, resulting in a noticeable chip. Knowing that it would only get worse if left unfixed, I immediately researched where I could take my car for a windshield replacement.

After receiving a quote from Safelite, a third-party service provider, I was shocked to discover that the cost would be a whopping $1525. Determined to explore other options, I decided to check with the Tesla Service Center to see how much they would charge for the replacement.

To my relief, Tesla quoted me $1062 for the windshield replacement, which was significantly less than Safelite’s estimate. I booked an appointment through the Tesla app and dropped off my car at the service center on the scheduled day.

Throughout the day, Tesla kept me informed of the progress through the app, letting me know when the windshield was replaced and ready for pick-up. Although I did not qualify for a rental car, Tesla offered me a $100 Uber credit for transportation.

When I picked up my car that evening, I was impressed with the overall process at the Tesla Service Center. The communication, payment, and vehicle pick-up were all handled seamlessly through the app, making the experience hassle-free.

Despite a minor issue of the windshield being dirty on the inside when I received the car, I was satisfied with the service provided by Tesla. The final cost of $1001 was even lower than the initial estimate, making the decision to choose Tesla over a third-party service provider a no-brainer.

In conclusion, my experience with replacing the windshield of my Tesla Model 3 was positive, thanks to the efficient and transparent process at the Tesla Service Center. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I highly recommend considering Tesla for your windshield replacement to ensure quality service and competitive pricing.

I hope my story has been helpful to you, and I look forward to sharing more experiences in the future. Stay tuned for the next blog post!
