Today, I want to share a story that is near and dear to my heart. It’s a story of frustration, perseverance, and ultimately, acceptance. It’s a story about my Tesla and the trials and tribulations it has faced in the short time that I have owned it.
It all started a few weeks after I got my Tesla, when I was on my way to the service center to get a few manufacturer defects fixed. As I was driving, a rock hit my windshield and left a small chip. It was the first of many chips that my windshield would endure.
Fast forward to yesterday, and my Tesla faced even more challenges. On my way to work, I got my first curb rash on my rim. It was a minor mishap, but it was enough to dampen my day. And to add insult to injury, another rock hit my windshield, leaving the worst chip so far.
But the woes didn’t stop there. I discovered that one of my custom aero wheel caps had come off, leaving me back to the original aerodynamic hubcaps. It was a small detail, but it added to my frustration.
Despite all these setbacks, I knew I had to take action. I called my insurance company, USAA, to see if they would cover the cost of repairing the windshield chips. They agreed to cover up to three chips, but warned me that after that, the windshield would need to be replaced.
I scheduled an appointment with Safe Flight, a glass repair company, to get the chips filled. The process was relatively quick and painless, but unfortunately, one of the chips turned into a two-inch crack. It was a setback, but I had to accept it and move on.
In the end, I learned a valuable lesson from this experience. I realized that no matter how careful I am, accidents can still happen. But it’s how we deal with these challenges that truly matters. I now have a plan in place for any future windshield issues, and I feel more prepared to face whatever comes my way.
So, if you ever find yourself in a similar situation with your Tesla or any other car, remember to stay calm, take action, and accept the outcome. It’s all part of the journey of being a car owner, and it’s a journey worth taking.
