Shocking: Tesla Comes Back from Body Shop with Significant Problems

Have you ever had a frustrating experience with a brand new car that you were excited to own? Well, I certainly have. Let me tell you about my journey with my 2022 Tesla Model Y Performance.

I was thrilled when I first purchased my Tesla Model Y a couple of months ago. The sleek design, the incredible performance, and the eco-friendly aspect of owning an electric car were all factors that made me fall in love with it. However, my excitement was short-lived when just a week into owning the car, I had to bring it in for service due to a total battery replacement. I was without my car for a couple of weeks, which was frustrating, to say the least.

After finally getting my car back, I took it on a snowboarding trip, only to be side-swiped by a huge truck, leaving behind a tiny scratch that needed to be repaired. I knew I had to take it to a Tesla-certified shop to avoid risking my car’s warranty, so I found a local shop with great reviews. Little did I know the ordeal that awaited me.

The repair ended up costing a whopping $5200, which was significantly higher than what a friend who owns a car shop estimated. Despite not having to pay for it out of pocket, I was shocked by the price tag. But what really irked me was the quality of the repair work.

When I picked up my car, I noticed several issues with the repair job. Trim pieces were not properly tucked in, clear coat overspray was visible in some areas, and the edge of the bumper had been sanded down, leaving a noticeable difference in appearance. It was clear that the repair work was not up to par, especially considering the time it took for the shop to complete the job.

What frustrated me even more was the lackluster customer service I received from Tesla throughout this entire process. Dealing with service and repair issues was a headache, and it made me question whether the hassle was worth it, despite the car’s amazing features.

Despite these setbacks, I still believe that my Tesla Model Y is the best daily driver for me. The acceleration, space, and simplicity of owning an electric car are unparalleled. However, the service experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I hope to avoid dealing with it as much as possible in the future.

If you have any similar stories or experiences with owning a Tesla or any other car, I’d love to hear about them. Share your thoughts in the comments below. And stay tuned for any updates on my Tesla ownership journey. Thank you for reading, and I’ll see you in the next post. Bye for now!
