The crack in my Tesla‘s back window was a surprise to me. I couldn’t feel it from the outside or the inside, but my brother, who is a body repair man, told me it was likely a stress crack. So, I made my way to the Ottawa Tesla service center to get it fixed.
The service center quoted me $1400 to fix the crack, but they mentioned that if it was indeed a stress crack, it would be covered under warranty. However, they couldn’t confirm until they inspected the car. I was hopeful that it would be covered, as I couldn’t imagine having to pay for such a repair.
After dropping off my car, they gave me a loaner Model S to drive while they worked on my car. The Model S was a smooth ride, but it felt much bigger than my Model 3. The interior of the older Model S loaner felt outdated with a lot of buttons, unlike the simplistic design of my Model 3.
After a few hours, I received a notification that my car was ready for pick up. The service was quick, and they had replaced the glass for free under warranty. They even added mud flaps, which I wasn’t sure about keeping, and mentioned they would install fog lights in the next service call.
Upon inspecting the car, I noticed a noise inside the cabin, which I suspected was from something I had left in the car. After removing everything, the noise was gone, and I was relieved that it wasn’t a problem with the new back window.
Overall, I was impressed with the service at the Ottawa Tesla service center. The staff was friendly, and the process was smooth and efficient. I was grateful for the warranty coverage on the glass repair and happy to have my car back in top condition.
In the end, I drove away with a repaired window, a quieter cabin, and a newfound appreciation for the excellent service provided by Tesla in Ottawa. It was a hassle-free experience, and I was glad to be back behind the wheel of my Model 3.
