Now, let’s get down to business. We have a BMW in the shop with a nasty scratch on the bumper that needs to be fixed. We’re going to use a scratch repair pen that comes with a sandpaper tip, paint brush, and clear coat brush. If you need to buy one, we’ll leave a link in the description below.
Using the scratch repair pen, we’ll sand down the area with the loose paint, clean it with rubbing alcohol, and then apply the first coat of paint. It’s important to apply a thin coat and let it dry before applying the second coat. We may need to apply multiple coats depending on the depth of the scratch.
Once the paint is dry, we’ll apply the clear coat to smoothen and blend the paint. After letting it dry for 24 hours, we’ll sand down any high or low spots with 1000-grit sandpaper and then polish the area with a scratch repair wax. Finally, we’ll finish off with a glass polish to make the paint shine like new.
