How’s it going, guys? Welcome back to 0.24 Blake Check! In today’s short video, we are going to be paint correcting my wife’s 2018 Tesla Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive. Now, if you guys recall, we actually took delivery of this car just a few months ago. In summary, the plan for this car was only to have it temporarily while we wait for my wife’s Volkswagen ID4 to be built and delivered. So, we’re still waiting for that car, which is why we still have this one. But before we sell this car, we want to make sure that it is in perfect condition for the next owner. That includes ridding the car of all the paint imperfections, such as swirl marks and spider webs. That’s why I reached out to my friends over at Omega Auto Detailing.
I contacted my friend Miguel on Facebook, who, along with his partner, has over 15 years of experience detailing cars. Since I have very little experience in detailing, I wanted to make sure this job was done right by professionals. Miguel explained that they would be doing a two-step paint correction to remove 80% of the swirls and light scratches, making the car look better and protecting it from further damage.
As Miguel started the paint correction process, I was amazed at the difference it made. The hood of the car looked like glass, with barely any swirl marks visible. Miguel then showed me a before-and-after effect by placing masking tape in the middle of the hood. On one side, he performed the paint correction, while the other side was left untouched. The difference was clear – the corrected side had significantly fewer swirl marks and looked much clearer.
Miguel explained that the two-step paint correction process not only improves the appearance of the car but also adds a protective layer, safeguarding it from future sun damage and swirl marks. This would ensure that the next owner of the car would be getting a vehicle in top-notch condition.
