Battery replaced on my 2014 Tesla Model S at 101,000 miles within the 8-year warranty period.

Hello and welcome back to another update on my Tesla Model S! I’m Matt from Gogo in Autos, and I’m excited to share the latest developments with you. This 2014 Model S with an 85 kilowatt-hour battery has just hit 101,000 miles, and it’s been quite the journey.

For the past month, my car has been in the service center getting a new traction battery installed. It was a bit of a wait since there were no 85 kilowatt-hour batteries available in the UK, but it finally arrived from America just in time. Luckily, this all happened under the drivetrain warranty, which covers these components for eight years with unlimited mileage.

The service center also replaced the rear motor, making this car practically brand new under the hood. With these major components replaced, I’ve decided to keep this car for the long haul. It’s been a reliable companion, and with the new battery and motor, it’s practically a new car.

During the time my car was in the shop, I also had them fix a pesky issue with the passenger side door handle. It wasn’t detecting the pulling motion correctly, so they quoted me for a new handle. After some back and forth, they ended up replacing the entire handle, but there were some alignment issues that needed fixing.

Despite these minor hiccups, I’m impressed with Tesla‘s service and how they handled the warranty claims. They didn’t hesitate to replace the faulty components, even the ones that were just starting to show signs of wear. It’s a stark contrast to other manufacturers who often try to avoid warranty claims at all costs.

The new battery in my car is a remanufactured one, and while I had some questions about its longevity compared to the original pack, the technicians reassured me that it’s a different and improved design. This gives me peace of mind knowing that my car will continue to run smoothly for years to come.

Overall, I’m thrilled with the outcome of this service visit, and I’m looking forward to many more miles with my trusty Model S. The metallic green color, unique to the early models, still turns heads, and with the added upgrades like grey alloys and a carbon fiber spoiler, it’s a stunner on the road.

If you have any questions about my Tesla or the service experience, feel free to drop them in the comments below. And if you enjoyed this update, don’t forget to give it a thumbs up and subscribe for more EV content. Thanks for tuning in, and stay tuned for more updates on my Tesla Model S journey!
