Hello VK! I’m going to walk you through my everyday skincare routine when I wake up. I want to wake up my skin, you know? As I tell you every day, when I wake up, I do a lot of stretches and things like that. So, I do the same thing with my skincare routine.
First, I use an Essence to give my skin some moisture all over. I like to wake it up because us Asians tend to have a little bit of fleshy cheeks, and I want to have that nice little contour going. I also make sure to apply the Essence under my eyes as well, all the way up.
While I’m doing all this, I like to do my squats. But if I do a full squat, you’ll see me disappearing from the screen, and I guess you don’t want that! So, I recommend doing kicks and stretches while you are also waking up and exercising.
Next, I have a cold ice roller that I use to massage my face. I focus on the jawline and under the eyes to give me that clean jawline that we all aspire to have. My mom, who is 83 and looks stunning, taught me this skincare routine. She does all these incredible things that are like doing martial arts on her face, and I’ve learned so much from her.
One new product that I discovered and love is the Helena Rubenstein mask. I warm it up and contour it across my face and forehead. It’s like a warm-up massage for the face and neck, stimulating all the lymph nodes and nerves. I believe it helps with the growth of hair as well.
I also make sure to drink a lot of water because good skin sets up a beautiful canvas for makeup. Eye cream is essential for me, and I like to pat it on gently. I never leave the house without sunscreen, especially if I’m going out for a hike later on.
My skincare routine changes depending on the climate I’m in. If I’m in a more humid environment, I use a lighter lotion, but if I’m in a harsher climate, I opt for a creamier option. I also use a natural sheer foundation and a little concealer to cover up sunspots from my younger days.
I like to add a little color to my cheeks and highlight my cheekbones. I prefer a quick and easy makeup routine, focusing on enhancing my features without looking too heavy. I believe that being comfortable in your own skin is key, whether you’re wearing makeup or not.
In the last two years, I’ve played different characters, but all mothers are pretty much the same. They all have certain gestures that transcend cultures and languages. I’ve been brought up to always be true to myself and to find and fine-tune a kinder version of me.
Thank you for watching and putting up with my silly little tips. Have fun, go out, and have a nice day!
