Hey there, car enthusiasts! Today, we’re diving into the world of DIY dent removal with a PDR kit that I ordered off Amazon. I’ve got an old hood laying around in the garage that’s covered in dents, and I’m eager to see if this kit can work its magic and restore it to its former glory.
Before I dive into using this kit on my own vehicles, I want to put it to the test on this hood. If it can tackle these dents effectively, then I’ll definitely be using it on my own cars in the future. Plus, it’s a great way to save some money compared to hiring a professional.
The kit comes with all the essentials – glue sticks, a hot glue gun, a variety of tabs, a puller, door panel poppers, scrapers, and even a bridge puller. However, one thing it doesn’t come with is a hammer and knockdown tabs, which are essential for flattening out any crowns that may form during the dent removal process.
After enlisting the help of my trusty assistant (aka my son), we managed to create a nice dent on the hood using a hammer. With the dent in place, it was time to put the PDR kit to the test.
I applied a glue tab to the dent, let it dry, and then used the puller to gradually lift the dent out. To my surprise, the dent started to disappear before my eyes. It wasn’t perfect, so I used a smaller tab to fine-tune the results. A quick knockdown with a special tool helped flatten out any high spots, and voila – the dent was practically gone!
I was impressed by how well the kit worked and how easy it was to use. It’s definitely a cost-effective solution for anyone looking to tackle minor dents on their own. Plus, the carrying bag makes it easy to store and transport the kit wherever you go.
Overall, I’m thrilled with the results and can’t wait to tackle more dents on my own vehicles. If you’re looking to save some money and have a bit of fun in the process, I highly recommend giving this PDR kit a try.
