Hey guys, Sean here from Tesla Family. Unfortunately, my car was involved in an accident earlier today. Another car veered out of its lane and hit the passenger side of my Tesla Model 3. Luckily, I was able to acquire the other person’s insurance information, and I’ve already started a claim.
One thing I love about my Tesla Model 3 is that it has four cameras recording at all times while driving. Fortunately, I was able to capture evidence of the accident. I have clips showing evidence of the other party veering out of their lane from the passenger side rear-facing camera and the rear camera.
The damage to my car was visible on the rear door with a scuff mark and dent, as well as a wide dent in the front door. The door handle was also affected. I decided to wait for the insurance company to provide me with an estimate before trying to open the door.
After three days, I checked in with the other party’s insurance company, and they took responsibility for the repair of my vehicle after reviewing the video footage I sent them. I scheduled a vehicle inspection and a Tesla service appointment to get my car inspected by the Tesla body shop.
The initial estimate from the insurance company was lower than expected, and I was not satisfied with their repair methods. After sending the estimate to Tesla, they provided an updated estimate that was significantly higher due to the need for door replacements and other repairs.
I dropped off my Model 3 at the Tesla body shop, and the repairs were completed in two weeks and two days. Tesla replaced both doors, the front door handle, and repainted the doors to match my car. The paint job was a perfect match, and the doors now work perfectly.
Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the repairs done by Tesla. The car was cleaned inside and out, and even the new door seals made the doors quieter and more secure. I was happy to finally pick up my Model 3 and drive it home.
