Cost of Replacing Model 3 Rear Bumper Cover

I recently had a minor fender bender in my Tesla and had to get my bumper cover replaced. I wanted to share with you all the details of the process and how much it cost me.

First off, the bumper cover itself cost $330, which I thought was a great price for a Tesla part. Both the service center and the body shop told me that the bumper would need to be painted once it arrived, but to my surprise, it actually came pre-painted. This saved me a lot of money and hassle, as painting a bumper can be quite expensive.

My car is the pearl white color, which is known to have issues with color matching. While the replacement bumper still isn’t perfect, it is a significant improvement from what I had before. In total, the bumper cover cost $330 and the replacement cost $550, which included 4.4 hours of labor at $125 an hour.

I was a bit surprised by the amount of labor required, as they had to remove trim pieces, rear lights, and a panel underneath the car. This added up to almost four and a half hours of work. If I had known the bumper would come pre-painted, I might have considered doing the replacement myself to save some money.

Overall, I am pleased with my new bumper and the color match. It cost me less than $900 to get it replaced, which I think is a fair price for a Tesla repair. If you enjoy hearing about my car adventures, be sure to subscribe to my blog and leave your video requests in the comments.

I hope this story gives you some insight into the cost and process of getting a bumper cover replaced after a fender bender. It’s always good to be prepared for unexpected car repairs and know what to expect in terms of cost and labor. Thanks for reading!
