Costs of Repairing a High Mileage Tesla Model 3 Long Range

Hey there, Tesla enthusiasts! Dr. M3 here, and I am thrilled to bring you a new video featuring my friend Johnny and his Tesla Model 3. Johnny, also known as Laces Out on Instagram, has been the proud owner of this electric beauty for over three years and has clocked an impressive 132,000 miles on it. In this video, we’ll dive into Johnny’s ownership experience and the repairs he’s encountered along the way.

First off, Johnny shares that one of the initial issues he faced was with the front trunk actuator, which failed to open. Luckily, the dealership swiftly replaced it under warranty, and Johnny was back on the road in no time. He also had a squeaky front upper control arm, which was fixed just before the warranty expired at 50,000 miles.

Another interesting repair Johnny mentioned was related to the passenger airbag sensor, which needed to be added to the 2018 model. This quick fix cost him around $200 and was resolved in a matter of minutes. Additionally, Johnny experienced a malfunctioning charger door at 100,000 miles, which was a simple repair costing around $200.

The most recent issue Johnny encountered was with the wire harness on the trunk, causing the trunk lights to malfunction. After a temporary fix, he ordered a new wire harness for just $70 and plans to replace it himself. Despite these repairs, Johnny notes that the total cost of ownership for his Model 3 has been relatively low, totaling around $600 over three years.

During our discussion, Johnny highlighted the cost savings and convenience of owning a Tesla, particularly in terms of fuel efficiency and maintenance. With an average cost of $9 for every 100 miles driven, compared to the $30-$40 it would cost for a conventional vehicle, the savings are substantial.

In conclusion, Johnny’s ownership experience with his Tesla Model 3 has been overwhelmingly positive, with minor inconveniences along the way. The reliability, efficiency, and overall driving experience of the Tesla have made it a standout choice for Johnny and many other owners.
