Discover the Actual Expenses of Wrapping and Coating Your Tesla

Last week, we took you behind the scenes as we transformed our new model X with a complete makeover. From color-changing stealth wraps to tinting and ceramic coating, we spared no expense in protecting and customizing our electric car. The entire process cost us a little over ten thousand dollars, but the results were well worth it.

To start off, we visited one of the top expel installers in the US to get our color-changing stealth wrap. The experts at Wrap Pros meticulously wrapped every inch of our model X, even taking apart the bumpers and tail lights for a seamless finish. The cost for a quality color change vinyl wrap typically ranges from four to five thousand dollars, depending on the market.

In addition to the color change wrap, we also opted for full stealth paint protection film (PPF) on all high-impact areas and gloss PPF on piano black trim. This added layer of protection ensures that our car stays looking brand new for years to come. The cost for a full PPF package can vary, but it’s a worthwhile investment to keep your car looking its best.

Next, we had our windows tinted with XR Plus film for maximum heat rejection and UV protection. The cost for tinting the two front windows and windshield ranges from 250 to 300 dollars, with the XR Plus film blocking 99% of UV light and 98% of infrared light. The added benefit of a clear windshield tint is a popular choice among our clients, as it provides UV protection without compromising visibility.

To complete the exterior makeover, we applied a ceramic coating to all painted surfaces, plastic trim, glass, and wheel faces. The exterior ceramic coating typically costs between 1500 to 2000 dollars, while the interior coating adds an additional 500 dollars. The ceramic coating not only enhances the appearance of the car but also makes maintenance and cleaning a breeze.

The durability of these protective coatings is impressive, with PPF lasting up to 10 years and ceramic coating providing long-lasting protection. Regular washing and maintenance will ensure that your car stays looking its best for years to come.

When it comes to maintenance, it’s important to avoid harsh chemicals and cleaning methods, especially on areas without protective coatings. Drive-through car washes can strip away protective coatings and cause fading, so it’s best to stick to gentle cleaning methods to preserve the longevity of your car’s finish.

Overall, investing in protective coatings and customizations for your car is a worthwhile expense that will keep your vehicle looking pristine for years to come. Whether it’s a color-changing wrap, window tinting, or ceramic coating, these enhancements will not only protect your car but also elevate its appearance. So, if you’re looking to protect your car on a budget, consider these options for a long-lasting and ageless wonder on the road.
