Hello and welcome to the Real Deal EV YouTube channel! Today, we are going to walk you through the process of replacing the seals on the Tesla Model S panoramic roof.
If you own a Tesla Model S, you may have noticed that over time, the seals on the panoramic roof can wear out and start to leak. This can lead to water entering the vehicle and causing damage to the interior.
The first step in replacing the seals is to open up the trunk of your Tesla Model S. Next, you will need to grab onto the back of the applique and give it a tug upwards. This will release five clips and allow you to remove the applique.
Once the applique is removed, you will be able to see the square that needs to be accessed in order to remove the seal. This square is located on the website and is what allows you to remove the seal.
Now, you can start removing the old seal. If the seal is intact, it should come out fairly easily. Next, you will need to grab a new seal from Real Deal EV. You can order a single seal or as many as you need.
After you have removed the old seal, you can start working the new seal into place. The new seal may have a small rubber stop attached to it, but this does not affect the installation process.
To make the installation easier, we recommend using a roller and applying panoramic roof seal lubricant to the gasket. This will help the seal slide into place and protect it from environmental factors.
It is important to firmly press the seal into place to ensure a proper fit. Avoid trying to slide the seal along the channel, as this can cause ripping and damage to the seal.
Once the new seal is in place, you can rest assured that your Tesla Model S panoramic roof is properly sealed and protected from leaks.
