Today is a big day for me as I officially begin my journey as a brand new hockey goalie. With my goalie pads on the way, I decided to start my training with my new glove and blocker that just arrived. Let me tell you, these gear pieces look nasty and I am ready to step up my game.
In order to prepare myself for the real-life challenges ahead, I decided to do some VR goalie training using Sens Arena. Last time I tried this, it was a disaster with every shot ending up in the back of my net. But this time, I am determined to make a difference.
I started with a warm-up drill to get my feet moving and get used to the controls. The VR technology is so advanced that it even senses where my chest should be, making the training feel more realistic. As I made some saves, I could feel myself improving and getting more comfortable in the virtual goalie position.
I then moved on to different challenges, facing shots from different angles and scenarios. Each challenge tested my reflexes and positioning, pushing me to improve with every save. Despite some close calls and a few goals against me, I could see myself getting better and more confident in my abilities.
As I completed each challenge, I realized the importance of proper positioning and quick reactions in being a successful goalie. The VR training was not only fun but also a great learning experience for me as I prepare to hit the ice in real games.
Although I fell short in completing the final challenge, I am determined to keep training and improving. With my goalie gear on the way, I am excited to start filming real-life goalie videos and putting my skills to the test.
Stay tuned for more updates on my goalie journey and upcoming challenges. And if you have any tips or suggestions for me, feel free to share them in the comments below. Let’s hit the ice and chase that shutout together!
