Hello, hello! Welcome to Tom’s garage today. I’m actually up pretty early, so I’m probably not my usual chipper self, but today we’re actually at the Tesla service center. If you’ve watched my channel, you know exactly where I’m at. I’m here for the first time, and everything that I’ve done here has been minor. Last time I was here, they were doing a trailer hitch, and the center console was repaired because it wasn’t staying open. But today, I’m here for a different issue – a compressor disabled error.
The service advisor just came out and they’re going to be checking out the compressor to see what’s wrong with it. They also mentioned a recall on a power steering rack and will be replacing the drive shafts and motor mounts to address some vibration issues. I asked for a rental because I need a car to transport my family while my Tesla is in the shop.
Fast forward a bit, and I received an email saying they have to order a part for the compressor, so it will take a couple of days. In the meantime, they provided me with a Tesla P90D rental, which I took into the Shenandoah Mountains for a little anniversary celebration with my wife. I had to park the rental to charge it since there were no chargers nearby. But after two days, I had a fully charged car ready to go.
After a few days, I received another email saying my Tesla was ready for pickup. They replaced the steering rack bolts under warranty, as well as the half shafts and motor mounts to address the vibration issues. The air suspension issue was also resolved, and I no longer experience any disabling warnings while driving. Overall, the service was smooth, and I’m happy to have my Tesla back in top shape.
I’ve had the car for a year now, and this service visit was probably the most significant one so far. I’ve had a few minor issues in the past, like a faulty front trunk actuator and the air suspension problem, but nothing major. The service center took care of everything under warranty, and I didn’t have to pay a dime for the repairs.
In conclusion, my experience with the Tesla service center was positive. They were efficient, communicative, and took care of all the necessary repairs under warranty. I would recommend getting a pre-owned Tesla with an extended warranty for peace of mind, especially with early model cars like mine. Thank you for reading, and I’ll see you in the next one. Stay safe and take care!
