How to Replace the Tesla Model 3 12V Battery in Just 10 Minutes – A DIY Guide

Today, I had the unfortunate experience of my 12-volt battery dying on me. It was quite unexpected, but I knew I had to act fast to get it replaced. I headed to the shop and picked up a new battery, which set me back around $84 to $86. I had never done a battery swap before, but I was determined to give it a try.

As I opened up the new battery, I was surprised by how heavy it was. I carefully removed the old battery from my car and began the process of installing the new one. The first step was to roll down all the windows and open up all the doors to ensure proper ventilation. I then turned off the temperature control on the screen and powered off the car in the controls menu.

Next, I had to remove the back seat to access the battery. It took a bit of maneuvering, but I eventually found the latch and lifted up the seat to reveal the battery compartment. I removed the old battery, being careful not to touch any metal parts, and disposed of it properly at the Tesla Service Center.

With the old battery out, I slid the new battery into place and connected the positive and negative terminals. I made sure to tighten the connections securely and cover them with the provided caps. I also reattached the air vent hose and secured the battery in place with the bracket.

Once everything was back in place, I tested the car to ensure everything was working properly. I was relieved to hear the car start up without any issues, indicating that the battery swap was a success. I closed up the car and was ready to hit the road once again.

Overall, the battery swap process was a bit daunting at first, but with some patience and attention to detail, I was able to complete it successfully. It was a valuable learning experience for me, and I now feel more confident in my ability to tackle similar tasks in the future.

If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, don’t be afraid to give it a try yourself. With the right tools and a bit of know-how, you can save yourself time and money by replacing your car’s battery on your own. Just remember to follow the proper safety precautions and take your time to ensure everything is done correctly. Happy driving!
