Issues with the Falcon Wing Doors on the Tesla Model X

Are you considering buying a Tesla Model X? Well, before you make that decision, let me share my experience with you. I purchased a 2016 Model X about five months ago, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the adventure.

One of the standout features of the Model X is its falcon doors. These unique doors open upwards, giving the car a futuristic and stylish look. However, I’ve encountered some issues with these doors that have led me to take my car to the Tesla service center twice in the past five months.

The main problem I’ve faced with the falcon doors is their sensitivity to objects around them. The sensors in the doors can sometimes detect phantom objects, causing the doors to not open all the way. This can be frustrating, especially when you’re in a hurry or trying to load items into the car.

I’ve had sensors replaced in both the driver and passenger doors to address this issue, but it’s still something I have to be mindful of when using the doors. In addition, the doors require a certain amount of space to fully open, which can be a challenge in tight parking spaces.

Another quirk I’ve noticed is the difficulty of opening both doors simultaneously. Due to the way the doors operate, you have to be careful not to stand too close to them when opening, which can be a hassle when trying to load passengers or cargo into the car.

Despite these challenges, I have to admit that the falcon doors do look impressive when fully open. They definitely turn heads and add a touch of luxury to the overall design of the car.

In conclusion, while the falcon doors on the Tesla Model X are undeniably cool, they do come with their own set of quirks and challenges. If you’re considering purchasing a Model X, make sure to take these factors into account and be prepared to potentially deal with some issues related to the doors.

Overall, I still love my Model X and hope that future models will address some of these issues. If you have any similar experiences or tips for dealing with falcon doors, feel free to share them in the comments below. Thanks for reading and happy driving!
