KIA EV6 – A 2-Year Review of Electric Vehicle Ownership: Not Perfect, But I’m Starting to Understand

The journey of owning an EV, specifically the 2022 Kia EV6, has been quite an adventure for me. Two years ago, I made the decision to purchase this car, not knowing much about EVs. I drove it down from Green Bay, Wisconsin to Texas, and it has been an interesting ride ever since.

In my first year of ownership, I filmed a video to review my experience as a new EV owner. Now, after two years of owning the EV6, I wanted to share how things have changed since the first year. From infrastructure to dealership experience, wear and tear, and more, I delve into all aspects of owning this car.

One of the most significant changes in the past year has been the emergence of new competition in the EV market. With models like the EV6 GT, EV9, Pole Stars, and Volvos entering the scene, the landscape has become more competitive. Despite this, I still find the EV6 to be a compelling offer, and I share my reasons for sticking with it.

From the interior and exterior features to maintenance costs and software updates, I cover it all in this detailed review. I also highlight some unsung heroes of owning an EV, such as remote starting in the garage, torque, and the parking assist feature.

Ultimately, the decision to buy an EV, like the EV6, depends on your driving habits, infrastructure availability, and personal preferences. While there have been some issues like the 12-volt battery and ICCU problems, overall, my experience with the EV6 has been positive.

As the EV market continues to evolve and prices become more competitive, now might be a great time to consider making the switch to an EV. The EV6, with its sleek design, advanced technology, and impressive performance, remains a strong contender in the EV market.

So, if you’re in the market for an EV and considering the EV6, I hope this review provides you with valuable insights to make an informed decision. Thank you for joining me on this journey, and remember, the future of driving is electric.
