My 2022 Long Range Tesla Model Y Wheel Suffered Curb Rash on July 5th, 2022 – She’s Taking Damage! ๐Ÿ˜†

Have you ever experienced the frustration of accidentally curbing your wheel? It’s a common occurrence that can happen to anyone, and it can be a real headache to deal with. In this blog post, I’m going to share my own personal experience of curbing my wheel and how I managed to smooth out the curb rash.

It all started when I was moving out and trying to navigate a tight space. My brother was almost going to hit the door, so I turned too much and ended up hitting the curb. The sound of metal scraping against concrete was enough to make my heart sink. I knew I had just added another blemish to my beloved wheel.

Upon inspection, I saw the curved brush on the rim where the curb had made its mark. Everything else seemed to be okay, but that one spot was enough to bother me. I knew I had to do something about it.

After some research, I decided to try and smooth out the curb rash area myself. I used a dremel tool with various sanding attachments to carefully sand down the rough edges and make the surface even again. It was a meticulous process, but I was determined to make it look as good as new.

Once I had smoothed out the curb rash, I considered filling it in with paint to match the rest of the wheel. However, I was hesitant to use polish as it would make the repaired area stand out too much. I wanted it to blend in seamlessly with the rest of the wheel.

In the end, I decided to leave it as is for now. The process of removing the wheel cover to access the damaged area was relatively simple, and I was able to reattach it without any issues. The wheel looked good as new, and the curb rash was barely noticeable unless you were specifically looking for it.

Despite the reassurances from others that it’s just a wheel and it’s bound to get damaged eventually, I couldn’t shake off the annoyance of the curb rash. It may seem like a minor issue to some, but for car enthusiasts like myself, every scratch and dent is a painful reminder of a momentary lapse in judgment.

If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, don’t fret. With a little patience and some elbow grease, you can smooth out the curb rash and restore your wheel to its former glory. And who knows, maybe you’ll even pick up a new skill along the way.

So, the next time you accidentally curb your wheel, remember that it’s not the end of the world. With a bit of effort and determination, you can fix the damage and get back on the road in no time. And who knows, maybe you’ll have a good story to tell like mine. Thanks for reading, and until next time, drive safe!
