Today I’m going to be sharing with you an update on our 2023 Model X, specifically the refresh model X. With recent price changes, many people are considering getting a Model X. We’ve had ours for about six months now, with almost 10,000 miles on it, and I have quite a bit of an update for you today.
First, let’s talk about the efficiency of the Model X. We have consumed 3382 kilowatt hours and averaged 371 watt-hours per mile. Compared to our Model Y, which averaged about 318 watt-hours per mile across two years and 50,000 miles, the Model X is about 16% less efficient. However, considering the size and weight of the Model X, this difference is not significant.
In terms of charging costs, we have spent $567 across 9125 miles, which comes out to be 6.2 cents per mile. Comparing this to a gas car like the Audi Q7, which would cost around 19.3 cents per mile, the Model X proves to be much more cost-effective in the long run.
One major update with the Model X is the recent price changes. The base Model X now qualifies for the $7,500 tax credit, making it a more attractive option for many buyers. The price has come down significantly, making it about $20,000 cheaper than when we bought it just six months ago.
However, there are some drawbacks to owning a Model X. Maintenance costs are higher compared to other Tesla models like the Model 3 and Model Y. The car is also prone to issues like paint scratches and rattling seats, which can be frustrating to deal with. Depreciation is another factor to consider, as the value of the car can drop significantly over time.
Despite these drawbacks, the Model X has many benefits. It is incredibly fast and comfortable, with a range of premium features like cooled seats and a spacious interior. The charging speed is also impressive, making it a great option for road trips.
In conclusion, the Model X is worth it if you have the means and are prepared for the higher maintenance costs and potential depreciation. It is a luxury car with advanced technology and features that make it a great choice for those looking for a comfortable and efficient Electric Vehicle.
Overall, the Model X offers a unique driving experience with its performance, comfort, and technology. If you’re considering getting a Model X, make sure to weigh the pros and cons carefully before making a decision. Let me know in the comments if you think the Model X is worth it, and if you have one on order, are you prepared for the ownership experience? Thank you for joining me today, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the Model X.
