Removing Scuff Marks, Paint Transfer, and Scratches from Your Car: A Guide by The Detailing Business

Hey everybody, it’s DJ with Curbside Mobile Detailing, back again with a new video for you all. Today’s video is a little different than the others, but I promise you, next week’s video is going to be a real doozy and I can’t wait to show it to you. So, don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss it!

One common issue I run into all the time is when a customer calls me because they’ve backed into a pole or scraped their bumper against their garage door while pulling in. They immediately think that their bumper needs to be repainted, but most of the time, that’s not the case.

I have a secret weapon that I use right before the customer’s eyes, and the damage is gone just like that. However, I want to caution you that the product I’m using is a paint remover, so if you’re dealing with a freshly painted panel or a lacquer finish, you don’t want to use it. Make sure to try it in an inconspicuous spot before proceeding.

So, what is my secret weapon? It’s just acetone that you can pick up anywhere. In the video, I demonstrate how I use acetone to remove a scrape on a Tesla‘s door quickly and effectively. There are still some fine scratches left, so I use a compound and machine polisher to fix that damage.

After that process, I move on to detail the rest of the vehicle and polish out the spot as I’m polishing the rest of the vehicle. It’s amazing how quickly and easily the damage can be fixed with the right tools and techniques.

Thanks for watching, and don’t forget to subscribe. I’m telling you, next week’s video is going to be a real doozy, so you won’t want to miss it. Tune in on Monday at 6 PM Eastern time for the big reveal.

In conclusion, it’s important to remember that not all bumper scrapes and scratches require a costly repaint. With the right tools and knowledge, you can easily fix minor damage and restore your vehicle’s appearance. Stay tuned for more tips and tricks from Curbside Mobile Detailing!
