Replacing My Second Tesla Windshield: Cost, Tesla App, and Touch-Free Service

Hey guys, Shawn here from Tesla Family. Well, it’s happened again. I broke the windshield on my Tesla Model 3 for a second time. The first time was due to a rock that came up off the road and chipped my windshield. I had to get the windshield replaced about a year and a half ago. This second time, though, was completely my fault. Let me take you through the process of getting my windshield repaired for the second time.

I was loading my mountain bike onto my bike rack attached to my Tesla roof rack on my Model 3 when the front fork slipped off and smashed down onto my windshield. Of course, it’s never fun to have a windshield broken, and then having to go through the process of getting it repaired. Luckily, with my insurance, I have full glass coverage, so it’s not going to cost me any money. I’ll get fully reimbursed for this, but just the process is kind of annoying.

I made a service appointment on my Tesla app and scheduled it for the windshield replacement. The estimated completion time was the same day or the next day at the worst, which was great news. I checked in with Tesla to make sure they had a windshield in stock for me, and they confirmed my appointment.

The cost estimate for the windshield replacement was $912.86, which was almost $100 less than the previous replacement I had 18 months ago. I approved the estimate and paid for it through the Tesla app. The process was seamless and touch-free, which was convenient.

I dropped off my car at the Tesla service center and received Uber credits to keep me moving while my car was in service. The service team updated me on the status of my car and informed me that the windshield had been repaired and was ready for pickup.

I took an Uber back to the service center, where I found my Model 3 with the new windshield installed. Everything looked great, and I was happy to have a new windshield on my car. I learned my lesson about being more careful when loading my bike onto the roof rack.

Overall, the process of getting my windshield repaired for the second time was smooth and efficient. I’m grateful for the full glass coverage provided by my insurance and the convenience of the Tesla service center. If you’re a Tesla owner, I highly recommend taking advantage of the services offered by Tesla for a hassle-free experience.

Thanks for watching, and don’t forget to subscribe to Tesla Family for more Tesla-related content. See you in the next video!
