Hello everybody, welcome! My name is Richard Simons, and today we are diving into the world of Tesla Model Y. They have been in the UK for 2 years now, and we are seeing plenty of these on the used car market. The Model Y is a brilliant electric family car, and in this video, I want to give you a buyer’s guide on what to look out for, common problems, plus points, cost to run, and what to consider when buying a used Tesla Model Y.
As it’s raining outside, I’ve come inside to give you all the information you need. The Model Y comes in three versions: standard range, dual motor long range, and performance. Each version has its own unique features and benefits. The standard range is the cheapest option, with a single motor between the back wheels and a 60 kWh battery. The dual motor long range has two motors, one between the front and back wheels, with a larger 79 kWh battery. The performance model is similar to the dual motor long range but dialed up to 11, with track mode included.
There have been some revisions over the years, with the addition of parking sensors on some models and a comfort suspension introduced in 2023. The interior of the Model Y is spacious and practical, with plenty of storage space and a high spec even in the standard range version.
One of the standout features of the Model Y is the Dog mode, which allows you to leave the air conditioning or heating running with a message to passersby that your pet is safe inside. The car also comes with a wireless phone charger and a single screen in the middle for easy access to all controls.
In terms of range and charging costs, the Model Y is efficient and cost-effective to run. With the Supercharger network, charging is quick and convenient, making long journeys a breeze. The car is also reliable, with very few issues reported and low maintenance costs.
Overall, the Tesla Model Y is a fantastic car that offers practicality, efficiency, and reliability. If you’re in the market for a used electric family car, the Model Y is definitely worth considering. Make sure to check the condition of the car before buying and consider factors like insurance costs and charging options.
