When it comes to Tesla YouTube videos, there seems to be three types of people watching: those who love Tesla and think they can do no wrong, those who hate Tesla and think they can do nothing right, and those who fall somewhere in the middle. As a Tesla owner who considers themselves in the middle, I strive to be honest in my reviews and opinions.
Recently, I took delivery of a brand new refresh model 3 Performance, and unfortunately, it came with a list of issues. From misaligned doors to damaged quarter panels, there were several cosmetic problems that needed attention. Despite these issues, I understand that Tesla is known for its technology and performance, not necessarily for its build quality.
I documented all the problems I encountered and submitted them to Tesla through the app. The process of getting these issues addressed has been a bit of a rollercoaster. My first service appointment was somewhat of a letdown, as Tesla deemed some of the issues to be within spec and did not address them. However, they did schedule a follow-up appointment to address the more significant cosmetic issues.
While it has been frustrating dealing with these problems, I am grateful that they have been cosmetic and not mechanical. I understand that Tesla is constantly evolving and that with a major refresh like the one I received, there are bound to be some hiccups. I remain optimistic that Tesla will eventually address these build quality issues and continue to improve their vehicles.
Overall, my experience with my new Tesla has been a mix of highs and lows. While I love the performance and technology the car offers, the build quality issues have been a bit of a disappointment. However, I remain hopeful that Tesla will address these issues and continue to innovate in the Electric Vehicle space.
