The Problems I’ve Encountered with My Pre-Owned Tesla Model S | Common Issues to Consider Before Purchasing

Hello and welcome back to my blog! My name is Blake, and I recently purchased a used 2013 Tesla Model S60. It’s been a little over two weeks since I took delivery of this car, and I have some thoughts to share with you all.

First off, let me just say that I had a lot of fun making a short video of my new Tesla with my wife. If you haven’t seen it yet, I’ll link it in the description below. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback on the video, and we really appreciate all the support.

Now that the honeymoon phase is over, I wanted to give you guys a quick rundown of everything I don’t like about this car, as well as my experience buying a high mileage used electric car from a third party dealer online like Carvana.

One of the first problems I encountered with this car is the front passenger door handle not working properly. It’s supposed to present itself when you approach the car with the key fob, but it’s as dysfunctional as Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s relationship. Tesla has a fix for this issue, but it can cost a couple hundred dollars.

Another issue I’ve faced is with the broken moon roof. When I try to open it, I hear a sound that resembles rocks in a blender. This is a common issue with older Model S cars, and Tesla actually removed the moon roof as an option after the 2008 model year due to these issues.

There are also some minor annoyances, such as screen yellowing and lag in the touchscreen and digital gauge cluster. These are cosmetic issues that Tesla has solutions for, but I’ve chosen to hold off on repairs for now.

Lastly, I want to touch on the Tesla service experience. It can be difficult to reach anyone by phone to schedule an appointment or discuss any concerns. My first service appointment was canceled inexplicably, but they were able to reinstate it. Tesla‘s reluctance to cooperate with third-party service centers may become an issue as their customer base grows.

Overall, despite these issues, I still love my Tesla. I did my research before buying it, and I’m confident that the problems will be resolved. I will be updating you all after my first service appointment to let you know how things have been addressed.

If you have any thoughts on buying a car online or purchasing directly from Tesla, feel free to comment below. Thanks for tuning in, and don’t forget to like and subscribe for more updates. This has been Blake Jack, signing off.
