Two Steps Repaired: Paintless Collision Repair.

Hello, my name is Ken and today we’re working on a Tesla. I’m going to show you how I repair a dent using two simple steps. The first step involves glue pulling, where I use a homemade lateral wood post to set up my equipment. I start by pulling the chain tight on the post and locking it to the floor. Then, I put the Tesla in reverse and run screws through the hooks on the racket straps.

Next, I clean up the paint surface with alcohol and place tabs using hot glue on the dent. I connect the ratchet strap to the tabs and use my body weight to pull out the dent. Moving on to the deeper section, I use hot glue on gray tabs and repeat the process to remove the dent effectively.

After removing the tabs and checking my work, I move on to the second step, which is paintless dent repair (PDR). I remove all the trim to gain access to the backside of the panel and use PDR bars to smooth out the body line and surrounding areas. With a special plastic aluminum knockdown tool and hammer, I apply pressure strategically to remove wrinkles and low spots on the panel.

I continue working on the panel, blending high areas into low sections until the metal lays flat. Finally, I remove any scarring left over in the paint from the impact collision and show the before and after results of the dent repair. The body line, which was caved in, comes out looking as good as new.
