Have you ever been in a car accident and thought it would be a simple fix, only to find out it’s a much bigger ordeal than you anticipated? Well, that’s exactly what happened to me recently when I got into an accident with my Tesla.
It all started with a minor collision that left the front of my car damaged. At first, I thought it would be a quick and easy repair job – just pull off the bumper, flatten out the hood, and voila, good as new. But boy, was I wrong.
I decided to get some quotes from a couple of auto shops in San Diego, thinking I could pay out of pocket for the repairs. However, both shops I visited – Amato’s and All American Auto – advised me against it, citing the extensive damage that I hadn’t even noticed.
After a thorough inspection, they presented me with a laundry list of parts that needed to be replaced, including the bumper, grille, headlights, and more. The total cost came out to nearly $9,000, which was definitely not what I had in mind.
I eventually decided to go through my insurance to cover the repairs, but the process was far from smooth sailing. Parts were backordered, leading to a two-week wait just to get my hands on a new hood. And even after the repairs were completed, I ran into issues with my autopilot system not functioning properly.
After multiple visits to the shop and calls to Tesla, it turned out that a faulty part was to blame for the autopilot malfunction. It was a frustrating experience, to say the least, but I finally got my car back in working order.
But the saga didn’t end there. I discovered that some of the repairs weren’t done to my satisfaction, prompting me to take matters into my own hands. From reapplying ceramic coating to ensuring the headlights were properly wrapped, I went the extra mile to make sure my car was in top condition.
Through this whole ordeal, I learned a valuable lesson about the true cost of owning a luxury car like a Tesla. While they may be sleek and high-tech, repairs can be a pricey and time-consuming affair. It’s essential to be vigilant and careful with your vehicle, as even minor accidents can lead to major headaches down the line.
So, if you’re a Tesla owner or considering buying one, be prepared for the unexpected and make sure you have a reliable insurance plan in place. And remember, it’s always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your prized possession on wheels.
As for me, I’m looking forward to my next video where I’ll be giving the inside of my car a makeover. Stay tuned for that and subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss out. Thanks for watching, and until next time, drive safe!
